This Privacy Policy explains how HomeTeam Connect ("HomeTeam Connect," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and related services (the "Platform"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service and, where applicable, our Professional Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. Account and profile information (name, email, phone, password, photo), home-buying or homeowner preferences, location and service area, budget and timeline, messages and documents you upload, contacts, reviews, support inquiries, and survey responses.

Professional applicants. Realtors and Loan Officers additionally provide date of birth, real estate license number, NMLS number, sponsoring brokerage or lender, and business contact details. These sensitive business identifiers are collected solely for identity verification, license validation, regulatory checks, and fraud prevention. They are never shared with buyers, never displayed publicly, and never sold to third parties.

Information we collect automatically. Device, browser, IP address, log data, approximate location, usage events, referring URLs, and cookies or similar technologies used to authenticate you, remember preferences, measure performance, and detect abuse.

Information from third parties. Identity, license, and background verification providers; analytics and email-delivery providers; payment processors; and integrations you explicitly connect.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to: (a) provide, personalize, secure, and improve the Platform; (b) introduce you to professionals you choose; (c) facilitate communication and document sharing inside your Deal Room and home tools; (d) process payments and manage subscriptions; (e) verify identity, licenses, and eligibility; (f) prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations; (g) send transactional, security, and (with consent) marketing messages; (h) comply with legal obligations; and (i) develop new features. We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Information

With professionals you choose. When you request an introduction or invite a Realtor or Loan Officer to your Deal Room, relevant details (such as your name, contact info, location, budget, timeline, and shared documents) are disclosed to that professional only — never broadcast to a list.

With service providers. Hosting, storage, analytics, customer support, email/SMS delivery, identity and license verification, and payment processors that act on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.

For legal, safety, and integrity reasons. When we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the rights, safety, or property of HomeTeam Connect, our users, or the public.

Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to customary confidentiality protections.

4. Documents, Messages & Uploaded Files

Files you upload (such as pre-approval letters, identification, financial documents, photos, or home records) are stored to provide the features you requested. Files shared into a Deal Room are visible to the professionals you invite to that room. You are responsible for the accuracy of and your right to share any document you upload. You may delete uploaded files from your account at any time; copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they expire.

5. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, session management, preferences, analytics, and security. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality such as staying signed in.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and prevent fraud. When you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal information except where retention is required by law (for example, tax, audit, or compliance records).

7. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and identity verification for professionals. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on the Platform. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

8. Your Choices & Rights

You can access, update, or delete much of your profile information from your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other state privacy laws — including the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your personal information, and the right to opt out of certain uses. To exercise these rights, email hello@myhometeamconnect.com. We will verify your request before acting on it and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Marketing Communications

You can opt out of marketing emails or SMS at any time using the unsubscribe link or your account settings. We will still send transactional, security, and account messages necessary to provide the Platform.

10. Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

HomeTeam Connect is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from your own.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
